2003 ANNUAL ALARKA REUNION in Swain County
This is an invitation to the 2003 Annual Alarka Reunion in Swain County, NC.

Anyone with ties to this community or the Swain County area are welcome to attend.

Saturday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m.

 Alarka Community Center on Alarka Road.

Take US 23/74 to Exit 64, Alarka Road. The community center is just after you pass the Cochran Cemetery where the old Alarka School used to be.

We will be doing a covered dish lunch.

There is an ice machine at the center and a large kitchen.

There is also a playground for the children.

The Lamb - Morris Joint Family Reunion

 Saturday, August 21th 2004

 Asheville, NC, Recreation Park, on the Swannanoa River Road.

The gathering will take place at Shed #2

(at the bottom of the hill near the swimming pool)

The reunion honors the descendants of Marmaduke Lamb and his wife Orpha Rollins, who relocated from Randolph County, NC, to Greene County, TN in the early 1800's. From there, many of their descendants migrated into Western North Carolina in the years immediately following the American Civil War.  The reunion also honors the descendants of Elias and Sarah Morris of Montgomery County, NC, and their sons who served the Confederacy (Zebedee, William, Larkin).  Zebedee and William relocated their families to Buncombe and Madison County, NC, just prior to the Civil War. This is not the Elias Morris who migrated to Kentucky. This Elias Morris died 30 August 1853 in Montgomery County, Pee Dee District.

The children of Marmaduke and Orpah Rollins Lamb were:

*Children of John Rollins Lamb (1811-1880)

and Sarah Elizabeth Ealy Lamb (1806-1876):

Zebedee and William moved to Madison County, NC

*Children of Corporal Zebedee William Morris (1827-1881), a disabled
veteran of the Confederate States Army, 11th North Carolina Infantry,

and his wife Emeline Williams (1827-1904) of Montgomery County

and of Madison County, NC. 

If you are from this family, please consider joining our reunion.
